2021 is here, but where is Helena?

So I made my post last year, stating I was back, but then never did anything with the website. It really was not my intent, but things got away from me. I got really busy inworld on many different fronts, and there was more than a few things that just didn't end up happening.

I aim to get better at making this a priority, as well as SL Marketplace.

The Green Queen is Back

 

Hey there . . .

It has been a long time, and for some reason, my blog is still getting amazing stats, not as good as when new posts come out, but not the low numbers I was expecting of a blog that hasn't had new content since HairFair 2016.

I left shortly after HairFair, I think it was around August 5th, just before I got setup done for Totally Top Shelf.

I was having internet issues, and then one thing led to another, and it was like a huge cannon ball, which just kept me from being inworld. Once I got to a point where I could be, it had become easy to just not. When I am in SL, I am just gogogo all the time. It's not a bad thing, I just love doing so many things, designing, blogging, traveling, being a mermaid . . . haha.

I have to say, the time away let me enjoy my growing family, as my children were all fairly young when my unfortunate leaving happened. I also was able to get back into my RL arts.

My RL sister, who is Cherelle Capra inworld, the Designer/Owner of CIRCA Living, recently came for a visit, and conned me back in. I can say I am back, but am unsure of the direction I am going in.
I have already started blogging, helping a long time friend Ylva, over on Second Life Syndicate. I will be doing all sorts of stuff over there, behind the scenes, and on the blog. It is helping me learn about all the new SL things, because a lot has changed in the 3 1/2 years I have been gone.

That brings about the store . . . I really don't know what I am going to do. Everything was so focused on original mesh, and I hadn't even gotten to the point where I could make things like flowers yet. I was in very early stages of understanding mesh. I have now not been meshing for almost 4 years. I can't say I remember how to do it, haha. Blender has also changed since then, and I will have to relearn things.

SL is also more hud driven than it use to be, and I tried to stay away from scripting as much as possible, I really do dislike it. But I think that is the future, so I will have to hud my hair. No fun for me, but it means that the new texture line for the store will have lots of fun colours. I am hoping to get all that sorted by this year's Hair Fair, textures, huds and relearning mesh.

In the meantime, I will be putting product on SL Marketplace. Did you know I have like over 50 products that just never made it to the shop??? The Hair Fair hairs haven't been out either, because it ended just as my net died. So I will focus on getting things out that are ready now, and update them to the new system later. Hopefully you can be patient with me on that one.

Free*Style . . . my first experience with blogging. It was because of Free*Style that I was able to land a job as a RL Beauty Blogger in Canada, for a time, while I was away. It was an amazing experience. The skills you learn in SL can transfer over to real life. I was working for companies like Benefit, Covergirl and L'Oreal, it was sort of surreal.

Anyways, back to Free*Style . . . I haven't managed to catch Sileny yet, and as Co-Owner, I don't feel it would be right for me to just go and do whatever I want without telling her. I want to upgrade Shop Free*Style, freshen it up with new designers, and make it more up-to-date with all the mesh body stuff. I want to continue my tutorial series. I still love freebie shopping, it was the first thing I did when I came back, so naturally still want to share.

It is good to be back. I have been talking to people, and running into others. I have been really enjoying BOM. I have 40 head demos, and can't find one I like, did that happen to you all???

Back Again - Welcome to 2013!

Mini Humans are invading my house!

So I have had yet another little life born to my family, and am finally feeling somewhat normal. This means I am going to be coming back to SL and doing some work. I have a few projects planned, not all being for The Stringer Mausoleum.

I just anted to let you all know I appreciate all your support over the years, even when I have been rather on and off.

Anyways, lots of plans for you all, so keep a look out!

The Stringer Mausoleum is rises for Easter

It's been a while.

Some crazy lady dragged me inworld to make some crazy hair(you can all thank Treebee Withnail), so here I am!

Been spending a bit of time learning all this new shit, mesh layers, tattoo layers(ya, I still hadn't updated to V2 when I left, still had 1.23), petite avatars and many more things.

I have been making things, and am planning on updating the store bit by bit.

I do have some things for you to look at, so here we go . . . .

Crazy Hair Hunt 3 has started, and as per usual, I am late letting you know. There is a good reason tho! I changed my ads a bit, felt the other ones were a bit outdated. I might tweek them a bit, don't know yet.

The theme this round was Flora and Fauna. I made a really big, well not big, MASSIVE, hair with tentacle like vines and a big ass flower. Also due to my sister teaching me about Petite avatars, and gifting me one, I made the hair Petite sized as well.



The Hunt item is a sculpted circular celtic type thing. IDK???? Anyways, I was so not my normal mean self with hiding it, so it shouldn't take you long to find. Enjoy that while you can.

I have been gone so long, that I wanted to do up some gifts for my loyal fans who have stayed in the group.

I have one big pack going in the group notices, it will have some hairs from recent ads and blogging, a few petite sized too! There are 2 Beta hairs I made in the last few days, that I had no clue what I'm doing with yet, so you can at least see what I've done so far.

I have also made a new instore gift, that is free for everyone on the grid. I have always wantedto do facial hair, so that was something on my list for when I came back. I made this one for the heck of it. It is for men, but as you can see I decked out my avi fem style and wore it anyways!

I LUUUUUUUUUUUBS bunnahs! might not be big on the whole easter thang, but I don't mind the lil buggers shagging all over my lawn.

So I did a few eastery type things for you. Spunk Bunnah Sets are for both biggies and Petites(Sold Seperately). They have a 12 colour change hud upon click. Only L$25!




I have always enjoyed doing Special Edition recolours and tweeking. I did an easter one up of "Death of a Goddess" for the group, and decided to do one for everyone else to grab. it is L$25 aswell.



The Group Version, which is a nice deep red and deep carrot colour, will be going out in group notices sometime sunday SLT.

I have been loving my new lil Petite avi, so naturally I have been playing to see which hairs will size down and adapt well enough.

Orly has always been a fav Vampy hair of mine. I will be doing it in all the colours, but for the time being I have the Limited Edition Dark Shines Pack in a Gacha.

It is L$25, the hairs are no trans, but if you want the whole set you can try your luck a few times by getting out of the gacha, or you can buy it in the vendor sign near the Machine.
 
I debated long and hard on putting them Tranferable(as most Gacha type stuff is) or leaving them Copy/Mod. I asked a few people, and one suggested to have the full pack set to sale, for those that want the whole set. Otherwise, if you just want one fun hair, you can just try your luck!

Year 2011!

So I'm officially back, as of Jan.6th 2011. I've been gone since October 29th 2010.

Why?
Again, due to my awesome body.

Another set of health issues. Normally that in itself would not keep me away from sl, but this has been a weird case.

If you care to know a bit about what was up here we go:

I started getting migraines with my first child, during pregnancy. Never had even headaches that much even. They were worse with the second pregnancy. Then I started having my left eye not totally black out, but my vision would go red. Could see lights and things, but not much else. It only ever happened when I'd get a really bad migraine, but those were happening more often.

One thing about them, I couldn't be on the computer, they just made them worse.

I went to get checked out, but they were not totally sure *Exactly* what it was.

I have to go get my head scanned in 2 weeks. They think I have some foreign mass of buildup, and when my head swells during the migraines, it pushes it on my optical nerves.

Anyways, I have conditioned myself to be able to come online again, cause I miss sl, so I'm back working starting today.

I'm sorry about my annual Halloween hunt, and missing the holidays and stuff. I'm planning on making up for some of that.

You'll see very soon an announcement for My *Very Merry Un-Halloweemas* (title in progress) Event, which will be in February. It'll be some sort of weird mix of Halloween and Winter Holidays, and somehow I'll make it work without it being The Cheese.

Groupies----> I'm sending you all the gifts from the annual Halloween hunt that didn't have halloween stuff all over them, which was about half of the products. So enjoy! it's a big ass box, it'll be in the Group Notices.

What's up Stringer?

***Press Release***

Helena Stringer, your ever faithful mohawk lovin lady, had had a bad go of 2009 and early 2010.

In real life her carbon-based lifeform was attempting to have another offspring. She lost 5 thru the year, thus causing issues with her iron levels. Exhausted all the time, she started not being able to handle the load she set for herself with her SL.

Sometime in October she got super sick. It was the time of the swine flu. But alas the answer was not so simple. Doctors had no clue what was wrong with her, it wasn't the dreaded piggly sickness. Over the course of a few weeks, she lost 40 pounds, was unable to eat anything, and her organs started to fail.

They sent off her tests to the University of Western Ontario, to be analyzed more thouroughly. In the meantime, her condition started to get worse.

Come the week before xmas, she was finally able to eat rice crispy cereal. You'd think this was a godsend, but after weeks of it, 4 times a day, it can make you sick just to look at it.

In the new year, they finally had some news for her. Seems that she was allergic to a chemical that was being sprayed on the fields around her house. As she was breathing in the corn dust in the fall, she had inhaled some of the offending spores. These spores had become toxic in her system, which lead to her Kidneys and Liver to stop functioning properly. Compounded with her already low iron levels, and then the fact that she could not eat as a side effect of the toxic allergic reaction, things just were not getting better.

Then . . .

She started to notice a lump, even with her having lost weight, in her belly region.

The Stringer was preggo.

The offspring on top of all the other stuff going on, was slowly eating Stringer from the inside out. First to go was all her muscle mass.

Luckily, before things got too crazy, they found out exactly what was up, gave her some meds, pumped her with some stuff in IV form.

Being watched closely, the condition of the baby was great, all things aside.

May 27th was suppose to be the happy day, sadly as with all things Stringer, events don't always go as planned.

Without making this report too long, there was a month of a mess with various doctors, and The Stringer went in to have her Baby Boy on the 30th of June(yes late, very late!). The one good thing about that was the fact that she ended up with a delivery doctor that looked like an ax murderer, rather the the doctor that looked like a deer caught in headlights, who also happened to be a baby dropper!

Fuck NOOOOOOO!

Now there was mention of the baby being a boy. They had said 90% chance.

Well it had funny parts when it popped out, didn't look right.

ZOMG!!!

GIRL!

Shyanne Rose-Marie was born June 30th at 11:04pm(almost canada's day, tho we can still blow shit up for the birthday anyways). She was 9 pounds 5 ounces and 51cms long(20 inches).

The Stringer brought her lil spawn home, and had been caring for it over the past weeks. She did however have to go in for surgery due to 4 areas of hemorrhaging. She finally felt somewhat normal for the first time yesterday, after a long year of illness.

What does this all mean to you?

Well The Stringer is back, gearing up for Hairfair 2010. She has many people to get back to, lots of notecards, lots of things she said she would do for you all, and hasn't.

So over the next few weeks she will be getting to all of these things, and start back to getting on a normal track of things.

-3 year store anniversary

Just to name the biggies.

It's great to be back, looking forward to the rest of 2010, going to try to make it memorable to myself, so the last year doesn't feel like a waste.

Funny story to this but I'll keep it short. MiaSnow was inspired by my Cosmic Traveller Dresses, and asked if I'd join her and her 3D Creators Flickr Group in a collab project. Now I couldn't just set out the same old same old, so I did a second version of the dresses.

I also made an addon pack of Leggings, so you can switch things up.



All these are Transferable.

I also made a unisex hair to work with GROLLWERK's Amazing Helmet sets. I made it to work right under the helemt, but still have a bit of a "Stringer" feel. I'm Really Really proud that this hair Looks HOT! on the dudes, I normally feel like I fail at man hair, so I'm happy that it works out well. Guys really rock it with the space helmet from GROLLWERK.

Like all of Rezzable's events, you can count on this being just as packed full of awesome that you'll be vaporized in your seats. I have made a really wicked Hair for this event, something I really hadn't intended on making and was rather surprised when I looked at the end result. I hope you all come to see it on the runway for the first Fashion Show(where I'll hopefully be sitting and watching too!).

It's this Sunday Jan.17th Starting at 12pm.

I'll send a landmark once they have the landing spot for the show set.

Third Event

A bit less info on this, but at the end of the month, I'll be doing another fashion show with the likes of Violator and Alpha.Tribe, just to name a few. It is sort of futuristic aswell(hmmm a theme maybe?). It's being put on by the wonderful team at Opium Fashion Agency.

I'm Back!

I just got back on yesterday from vacation. I'm in the store fixing things, and will be updating the blog in the next few days.

Let me take over your hump day!

Did you know that today is my favorite day of the week?

It always has been.

So I've decided that Wednesdays will be my new release day from now on. If I don't make it the one week, everything will come out the next. I'll try to always have some sort of something, I really need to get back in the grove.

Anyways, a few reminders of what I do on my release days, for you new people, and a few new things I'm going to try.

75% off packs-I've always had for the first 24 hours of a new release, all colours shown in my ad, for 75% off. Eg. I am wearing blonde, blue and pink in the ad, so those whole packs will be 75% off.

New Ideas:

I'm going to have a raffle type thing for new releases. A few of the groups I'm in have them, and it's fun. So basically I'll pick 3 names randomly, and those people will get to chose what they want from the new releases. I'll do 3 for my Inworld group and 3 for my Subscriber group.

I'm going to have a deal of the week from now on. The deal of the week will be 75% off all packs and 1/2 off the Mega pack. One random colour will also be set to L$10. If you know me at all you'll know it'll be something funky.

I'm going to have a mini hunt for Special Edition textures of the new releases every week. Details on that will be from a week to week basis. I'll only let 5 of each out, they will be set to original, so please pick them back up. They will be for a small fee, some free, and I'll set them out at different times. Feel free to ask me if any are left. Mini hunts go on till the next release.

Any other ideas you may have for fun things I can do, just let me know.

It Begins Again!

I decided to create a new store blog.

Again.

Simply put, I wa not happy with what was going on with the other one. I'm going to try a few different things here. My stories behind why I made products were always welcomed, but other then that, it was not personal enough for me. Didn't show who I am in relation to my products, and was very bland. Just sitting there really there. This made me not really want to take care of it.

After starting up the "Suddenly Seeking Stringer" blog with the models and a few friends, it really be came clear to me that I needed to take some of that to the store blog. I want it to be a place where people go, not just to view new releases, but also to enjoy a little story, a little fun, a little Helena style!

So hopefully this ends up working out the way I want it to.
